I've been using my Meade DS114 (
114mm f8 ) reflector telescope and Philips TouCam III for a while now at prime
focus which makes the field of view rather narrow around 10.4 x
13.9 arcmin. I recently bought a f.6 reducer do get a
bit wider FOV. However, when I attached it to the
camera and place it in the telescope I couldn't focus the image.
I determined that I needed to get
deeper into the focusing tube. After pondering the problem I decided
what I needed was a bushing that would fit snuggly into the 2"
focus tube and allow me to put the 1.25" camera adapter into it.
So I ended up making a bushing out of .75"
MDF (Medium Density Fiber board)
If you need an adaptor and don't feel you
can make one yourself, contact
Steve Mogg at
WebCaddy.
He can probably make you one for around $30 plus
shipping.
