Main Page:

This is the main page  where you  select the file you  want to  look at or update.

To select a file:

• Click FILE  > OPEN on the Menu bar.
  The dialog will open allowing you  to  select any .fit, .fts, .fits type files

   You  can also type the name in the source file box.

Read the header:

    To  read the header click the GET INFO button. The program will read thru the file and display  all the cards in the header.

Add Records:

   For those of you  that  want to  add information to  the header of your image fits file select the file and then click the Add to  Header button or on the MENU click FILE > EDIT. This will open a new screen  as shown to the right.

If you  want to duplicate some of the entries of the previous change you  can click  Get Last Entry button  and that  information will be populated into the fields. You then can make changes as necessary.

 The fields on this for are self-explanatory. Just fill in the items that  you want to the header.

The output file will always be different than the original . This is done so you  do not lose the original in case there is a problem with writing  the output file.

I have been testing the out put by loading it into Nebulosity ( or other program that reads FITS files) to insure that  the file can still be read.

The COMMENT is a free field input that  will be added. Here you  can put notes about the image or what  ever you  like.

A history entry will automatically be made to the header stating who changed the data  with  what program and when.

Once you  have entered all the data you  want to  add click the UPDATE button.  This will cause the program to  read all the records and  write them to  the output file adding the new data.

"Update Completed" will be displayed when the change has been made.

Click the DONE button when finished and you  will be returned to  the main screen.

To terminate the program click the EXIT button.
